DAY 1: Puppetry and Storytelling in Play Therapy: June 10, 2022 from 9 am to 4:30 PM; 6 CEUS
Description: What time is it? It is story time! Join us for an interactive learning experience that focuses on using puppets and stories to support and empower clients in play therapy. Participants will create puppets and practice crafting stories and puppet shows to aid in integrating play therapy theory and practice.

In this workshop, participants will learn:
- Identify at least five benefits of using puppets and storytelling within the practice of play therapy
- Explain three storytelling types to assist clients with identifying, processing, and resolving intrapersonal and interpersonal conflicts
- Discuss one bibliotherapy technique to enhance the parent-child relationship
- Create two puppets to enhance the play therapist’s self-awareness
- Practice three storytelling activities for use with play therapy clients to enhance self-awareness, group cohesion, and imaginative skills
- Engage in three puppetry activities for use with play therapy clients to enhance feeling awareness, communication/social skills, and grief processing.
DAY 2: Cultural Humility for Play Therapists: June 11th, 2022 9 AM to 430 PM; 6 CEUS
Description: Culture can be challenging to grasp yet is essential to understand! This learning experience focuses on enhancing multicultural knowledge, skills, and humility for play therapy practice. Participants will explore relevant terms, identify barriers to effectiveness, practice activities to deepen cultural self-awareness and humility, and explore ways to create a culturally sensitive play therapy room.

In this workshop, participants will learn:
- Define cultural humility and the three components of its application
- Explore three cultures of childhood and five ethical guidelines that regard culture as promulgated by the Association for Play Therapy
- List four principles that play therapists need to hone self-awareness necessary for a culturally humble practice
- Review seven barriers to wholesome multiculturalism within play therapy
- Practice three activities to cultivate a culturally humble play therapist using the Self-ARC concept (Fountain Hardy, 2021)
- Identify three ways to enhance a culturally sensitive play therapy space

History of Play Therapy
Ceus: 5 hours
Description: This workshop will review the history of play therapy to meet the required five hours of instruction to become a RPT. This workshop is designed to tour the history of play therapy from its conception to now. Focus will be placed on key people, events, organizations, and seminol theories that have contributed to the development of play therapy.

In this workshop, participants will learn:
1. Participants will learn about the grandfathers and mother of play therapy.
2. Participants will learn about other key contributors to the play therapy of today.
3. Participants will learn about major events and organizations that have contributed to play therapy.
4. Participants will learn about the creation and development of the ten seminol theories of play therapy.
5. Participants will learn how play therapy developed decade by decade since its conception.
